Mr. Rashesh Shah is Chairman and CEO, Edelweiss Group, one of India’s leading diversified financial conglomerates with businesses ranging across Credit Businesses (Structured Collateralised Credit, Wholesale and Retail Mortgage, Distressed Assets Credit, SME Finance, Agri and Rural Finance and other loans), Non-Credit Businesses (Wealth Management, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Agri Services and Balance Sheet Management Unit) and Life Insurance.

Rashesh co-founded Edelweiss in 1996, which has since grown into one of India’s leading diversified financial services conglomerates, providing a broad range of financial products and services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, institutions and individuals. Edelweiss today has an asset base of over Rs. 33,000 crore and a net worth of nearly Rs 4,400 crore. The Group has 259 offices in 127 cities with headquarters in Mumbai, India.

Rashesh is passionate about financial services and the role it can play in translating India’s vast savings into investments; thereby powering economic growth and development. Under his leadership, Edelweiss has combined technology, innovation and growth oriented entrepreneurship with a strong focus on risk management to become one of the more successful, stable and well respected financial services companies in India. He is closely involved in EdelGive Foundation, Edelweiss’s philanthropy arm, providing strategic oversight and advice, and is particularly passionate about charities involving sports and education.

A regular commentator on macro- economic policies, development matters and financial markets in the mainline and financial media, Rashesh serves on the Boards of various companies and public institutions. He has previously been on the Executive Committee of the National Stock Exchange and also on the SEBI (Stock Exchange Board of India) committee to review Insider Trading Regulations. He is currently the Vice President of FICCI, which is India’s Apex Industry association.

An MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Rashesh also holds a Diploma in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. A voracious reader, a fitness enthusiast and an avid runner, Rashesh continues to participate in marathons across the globe.

Venkat Ramaswamy, Executive Director, Edelweiss Financial Services

Mr. Venkat Ramaswamy is Executive Director, Edelweiss Financial Services and is widely recognized as one of India’s finest deal makers. Amongst his responsibilities, he also Co-Heads two of Edelweiss’ strategic businesses – Distress Assets & Resolution business and Global Asset Management, while continuing to play a mentorship role with the Edelweiss Investment Banking business.

After having worked in the Project Financing team of Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) Ltd., then India’s premier project finance institution and today its largest private sector bank, and he was a fund manager with Spartek Fund – one of India’s early PE fund – Venkat co-founded Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd.

Since then he has been one of the driving forces in transforming what was once India’s first new age boutique investment bank to a leading diversified financial conglomerate in a span of just a decade and a half.
Venkat has been instrumental in building a client-need focused solutions approach in the Distress Asset and Resolution business including the business under Edelweiss Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC). This approach of working with large Banks in India has lead to the Edelweiss ARC becoming the largest ARC in the country today.
Venkat oversees key institutional relationships including with International Pension Funds and Insurance companies, under his guidance, the Edelweiss Global Asset Management team has been able to build one of the fastest growing Multi category Alternative Asset Management businesses in India.

An MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, United States of America and a Bachelor’s Degree holder in Electronics Engineering.


Using his skills at building and maintaining large institutional relationships including with International Pension Funds and Insurance companies, the Edelweiss Global Asset Management team has been able to build one of the fastest growing Multi category Alternative Asset Management businesses in India.

Venkat is married and has a daughter.

Nitin Jain, CEO, Global Asset & Wealth Management, Edelweiss Financial Services

Mr. Nitin Jain is CEO, Global Asset & Wealth Management at Edelweiss Group and co- heads the Global Asset & Wealth Management business, with over US$ 6 Billion in assets. The business encompasses the entire range of asset management services including Alternative Funds, Mutual Funds, Asset Reconstruction, as well as Wealth Management. The Global Asset Management & Wealth Management Group at Edelweiss advises Investors, Financial Sponsors, Owner/ Promoters, Family Offices, on investments as well as financing and funding strategies across domestic and offshore markets. Edelweiss is one of India’s leading diversified financial services conglomerates.

Nitin joined Edelweiss in 2004 and has extensive multi asset class investment experience across local and global markets.

In his earlier role as the head of Retail Capital Markets he was instrumental in expanding the Retail Broking business across asset classes and products and subsequently built it into a business with over $2bn of assets under management. He is also credited with the successful integration of Anagram Stock Broking Ltd.

With a demonstrated ability of business excellence, Nitin steers the ‘Senior Leaders Group’ – the senior most tier in the Edelweiss Leadership Programme which comprises of heads of various business and enterprise functions. He is also actively involved with EdelGive Foundation - the strategic philanthropic arm of the Edelweiss Group and is a part of the investment committee.

Nitin has a B.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, with Post Graduation in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.


Vikas Khemani, President & CEO, Edelweiss Securities Limited

Mr. Vikas Khemani is President & CEO, Edelweiss Securities Limited, a subsidiary of Edelweiss Group.

Vikas heads the Wholesale Capital Markets business at Edelweiss, looking after wide range of Capital Market businesses which includes Investment Banking, Institutional Equities, Prime Brokerage and Research. Vikas is also a member of the Edelweiss Management Committee.

Joining Edelweiss from ICICI Securities Ltd, at a young age of 26, Vikas is responsible for setting building and scaling up several businesses within Edelweiss

A Fellow Member of the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute, USA, Vikas is a regular commentator on Indian capital markets in the media and at various forums across India and APAC region

A fitness fanatic, Vikas is a regular marathon runner.


Ravi Bubna, President and Co-Head Credit and Fixed Income, ECL Finance

Mr. Ravi Bubna is President and Co-head of Credit & Fixed Income at ECL Finance, a subsidiary of the Edelweiss Group. With over two decades of experience across Corporate Finance, Quantitative Financing, Risk, Credit as well as General Management, Ravi has been instrumental in not only establishing the Group’s Financing business, but also spearheading its accelerated growth. Under his leadership the Financing and Credit businesses are the one of the key contributors to the Group’s revenue mix.

Prior to joining Edelweiss, Ravi spent over 13 years with the financial services business of the Aditya Birla Group where his last assignment was Joint President & Country Head of Birla Global Finance Limited. Before that, he was with the Parasrampuria Group of Companies as Group Head, Treasury.

An avid photographer, Ravi has won several awards for his skills behind the camera.


Himanshu Kaji, Executive Director and Group COO, Edelweiss Group

Mr. Himanshu Kaji is Executive Director and Group COO, Edelweiss Group. Himanshu oversees Corporate Planning, Operations, Technology, Business Solutions, Governance, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Stakeholder Relations, Global Risk, Resources, Administration, Digital Initiatives, Information Security & Corporate Control functions for the group. He is in charge of Strategy and Execution for the Group.

Prior to joining Edelweiss in 2009, he served as corporate advisor to various large organisations in the financial services sector. Presently, he is a member of the Secondary Market Advisory Committee of SEBI.

Early in his career, Himanshu gave up his investment banking job at ICICI Limited to join his family business of broking. During this period he played a key role in the overhaul of the oldest stock exchange in Asia – the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Himanshu was part of a select group which oversaw the corporatisation and the de-mutualisation of the BSE. He also served as Honorary Treasurer and was the Official Spokesperson for The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the year 1999-2002.

A Chartered Accountant with a Post Graduate Diploma in Securities Law, Himanshu Kaji brings to the table his diverse experience of over two decades in the areas of business strategy, risk, finance, regulatory frameworks, process re-engineering and technology strategy and implementation across the financial services space.

Himanshu is an avid marathoner.

Rujan Panjwani, Executive Director, Edelweiss Group

Mr. Rujan Panjwani is Executive Director, Edelweiss Group and plays a key role in several strategic initiatives for the Group including driving its Human Resources, Strategy Planning and Business development. He is a member of the Assets & Liabilities Committee that primarily manages the Group's balance sheet and the Global Risk Committee the highest decision making body in Edelweiss on Risk-related issues.

He has almost three decades of experience in the financial services industry working across all asset classes. Over the last 16 years with Edelweiss, he has helped set up several new businesses and functions for the Edelweiss Group including Asset Management, Credit, Group Treasury and the Balance Sheet unit.

Rujan spearheaded the iconic Edelweiss Associate Programme that started a decade ago and built leaders who are in senior positions within the Group today.

Besides being on the Board of Directors of Edelweiss Financial Services, he is Executive Director of Edelweiss Commodities Service Limited and also on the Board of Edelweiss Asset Management Company.


S. Ranganathan, President and CFO, Edelweiss Financial Services Limited

Mr. S. Ranganathan is President& CFO at Edelweiss Financial Services Limited. As CFO of the Edelweiss Group, he provides financial oversight for the Group and is closely associated with the financial markets and regulatory changes therein. In addition, he is also responsible for identifying opportunities in terms of strategy, people, process, Innovation and technology within Edelweiss. He is also a member of the Management Committee.

Prior to working with Edelweiss, he was with Citigroup India and subsequently was also a Director and CFO at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, India.

A qualified Chartered & Cost Accountant, Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries and also a law graduate, S. Ranganathan began his career more than two decades ago and moved into the financial services sector in 2000.

S. Ranganathan is a keen cricket follower and an enthusiastic runner.


Deepak Mittal, MD & CEO, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance

Mr. Deepak Mittal is MD & CEO of Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, a joint venture between the Edelweiss Group and Tokio Marine Holdings of Japan. This lineage brings together a deep understanding of customer needs, one which is backed by international expertise. The company offers proprietary needs-based life insurance solutions to help customers meet their life stage financial goals.

Deepak l is also a part of Edelweiss’s Management Committee and has been part of the core management team involved in setting up new businesses for the Edelweiss Group. At Edelweiss, Deepak helped scale up the Capital Markets business and then subsequently became the Chief Financial Officer where he helped steer the firm steer through a successful Initial Public Offering. Post the IPO, when the global financial crisis disrupted markets world over, Deepak was part of the core crisis management team at Edelweiss and helped navigate the Group successfully through extremely difficult business situations, while playing a key role in the expansion of various Edelweiss businesses.

As the global financial system stabilized, Deepak led the Group’s new strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of Anagram stock broking, which expanded the Group’s retail reach manifold. He also played an important role in finalizing the Group's strategic foray in to the life insurance space, through its joint venture with Tokio Marine, and subsequently became its CEO.

A Chemical Engineer from IT-BHU and an MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad, Deepak is passionate about developing talent, reading and travelling.


Anil Kothuri, President & CEO, Edelweiss Retail Finance Limited

Mr. Anil Kothuri is President & CEO of Edelweiss Retail Finance Limited and heads Edelweiss’ Retail Finance business which includes Mortgage Loans, SME Finance, Small Ticket Home Loans and Rural Finance. He is a part of the Edelweiss Management Committee.

Anil has over two decades of experience across various asset businesses including Mortgage, SME Financing, Auto Loans, Share Finance and Unsecured Lending.

Prior to joining Edelweiss, he was with Citibank where he led key assignments across functions in Audit, Operations, Sales, Product Management and Marketing.

He is an MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Computer Engineer from Andhra University. Anil is a quizzing enthusiast and an avid runner.


Hemant Daga, CEO, Global Markets

Mr. Hemant Daga heads the Global Markets business at Edelweiss Financial Services Limited. He is responsible for managing the treasury and overseeing all investment decisions for the organisation. He is also a part of the Edelweiss Management Committee.

Hemant joined Edelweiss in 2005 and has been instrumental in scaling the Global Markets business across multiple asset classes. He has also been part of the core team in designing and structuring the Edelweiss Leadership Programme, the key leadership & talent development forum for senior and mid level Edelweiss employees.

Prior to Edelweiss, Hemant has worked with ICICI Bank in the Global Markets division. He has extensive multi asset class investment experience across local and global markets.

Hemant has done his Post Graduation in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and is a regular marathoner.
